You may change your corporation's name to a new name by a process called Articles Amendment which allows you to change the existing name to a new one. This amendment is filed with the provincial of federal Government Registries. Through this filing process:

• A numbered corporation can change to a named corporation or vice versa.
• A named corporation can change its name to a different name.
• A name search & reservation report/ NUANS is required for the new name along with an application to amend the name.

The new name for corporation needs be reserved and approved for a name change. A NUANS report for the name is required for federal, Alberta, Ontario and Prince Edward island. A Provincial name approval documents is required for B.C, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, Quebec, NWT, Yukon and Nunavut.

A name change of a Corporation can be requested by any one of the active directors of the corporation.

Amendments and name approval timeline is dependent upon the turn around time of the Government Registries. In rare cases, if there is a delay from the Registries to provide us the name reservation document or registration certificate within the selected timeline, we will do our best to complete in the shortest possible time.
